The Joy Of Sets! I am in the blessed position of being able to talk about a job I am working on! I know, how often does that happen without having to make some veiled references to being away in some foreign city with lovely people you can’t mention.
I am working with Forever Living Products as their Technical Director on the annual Global Rally which next year is in Paris at the La Defence U Arena. This week we have our first site visit with the team who have been working together , some for over 18 years, on the same project and we will thrash out the detail. It’s a great way to work in my opinion and becoming rarer in my experience, but all the HOD’s in the same room with one plan and all pitching in ideas and me reigning them in with my budget pencil, it should be a good week.
As I can mention the team, we have Dave Shepherd on sound, Alex Whitby all things connectivity and Video, Nick Whitehead Video, Simon Frost from Rigging Team all things roof, Peter Hurlin as construction manager, Henry Davey as PM, Glyn Peregrine as our local PM and Steve Nield our LD and environment designer. Closer to the time we also have Ruth Trantor, Choreographer, Phil Swallow show caller and Celia Waite Production Coordinator, who will keep us all in line.
A truly lovely team of people who will pull out all the stops and get this event over the line in May next year. I’m looking forward to moulding this event, into a cracking show with the team, so let the journey commence!
